In addition to cross-country riding as seen above..

  • Our days begin with supervised early morning feeding and grooming. Lessons are given in our arena, jumping fields or show ring. As soon as riders are safely balanced they begin riding cross-country to build stamina and muscles. Our other activities besides riding include swimming, hiking, haying and other farm chores.
  • Every summer, on the last 3 Sundays in July a horse show is held on our grounds. Two weeks later we sponsor a team jumping derby and a 3-phase horse trial. Our campers can compete in horse shows in New York and in Vermont depending upon their interest and ability.

A warm informality pervades our activities. During our busy times our friendly small group get to know one another. We are small and plan to keep it that way. It's more fun because we can be more spontaneous and flexible while keeping up with our energetic schedule of events which includes a regional pony club rally and 4 horse shows.

  • There are many levels of competitive drives in children and we enjoy all the variations, appreciating their contributions to our community of individuals. For the keenly competitive, our coaching staff is at an advanced level, having coached several youngsters on to national competition. An integral part of the training of our horses is conditioning their lungs and muscles on mountain trails. Riding the mountain trails appeals to all whether their goal be competition or sheer pleasure. The noncompetitive camper frequently enjoys training young horses, organizing trail rides and managing horse shows, all of which are integral to our program. All skill levels are needed and all levels of competitive drives fit neatly into our group of 36 young boys and girls

Of course there is lots of jumping...

...but first comes the training.
